Rashmi Sharma, M.D.

Rashmi-SharmaDr. Sharma joined Sandy Springs Internal Medicine in 2024. She grew up in Delhi, the capital of India. Pursuing medicine was a dream come true for her. She earned her medical degree and residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College, the leading institute in medicine in India. After moving to the United States, she completed her medical residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in 2009. Dr. Sharma went on to work, both as faculty and as a hospitalist, at Emory University Hospital in 2012. At Emory, she was involved in teaching, research activities, and quality improvement projects. Her passion for personalized patient care led her to transition to outpatient internal medicine at The Wellstar Medical Group in Douglasville, Georgia. During her years of working with larger medical groups, she realized the importance of providing empathetic, personalized, and approachable patient care. Dr. Sharma decided to open her practice, Care First Medical, to partner with her patients to achieve their best health. In 2024, she made the move to SSIM to further align with her patient care philosophy.

Dr. Sharma approaches her patients with empathy and understanding, creating a comfortable and safe space for them to discuss their concerns and needs. She believes the key to optimal health lies in a partnership between physician and patient; she is committed to working with her patients to achieve their health goals. Good health can be achieved when the mind, body, and spirit are harmonious. She sees herself as a partner, being side by side, cheering her patients on, and inspiring them to nurture and nourish themselves. Dr. Sharma feels great joy and satisfaction watching her patients’ health improve. In her words: “Your health is a precious gift, and I am here to be your partner in preserving it.”
